WORTHWHILE OR WORTHLESS- A CONSUMER GUIDE TO AVOIDING SCAMS AND SCOUNDRELS. HOMEOPATHY- MEDICAL ADVICE FROM THE IRRATIONAL. PT 3.

One of the most enduring and improbable "Truths" that are part of Homeopathy, is the "Law of Infinitesimals".  This basically claims that the greater the dilution, the more likely a cure for the given illness or disease.

Chemically, any substance diluted to a certain extent will become unidentifiable in Lab tests. This can be found on Homeopathic Products that list dilutions greater then 24X. 

Even if we were to accept that certain prepared concoctions  containing measurable amounts of the curative substance could be of some benefit, how could the lack of any identifiable molecular presence within the remedy possibly help anyone? 

Well, Homeopathy has the answer, and it is ludicrous.  By properly agitating, mixing or stirring each stage of dilution, the original substance contained in the initial solution will imprint an "essence" of its' original chemical identity upon each new "Cure."  This means that each subsequent remedy has a "Memory" of a substance that cannot be measured or identified.  Further, that each time this is done, a positive outcome becomes even more inevitable.

In other words,these Homeopathic products are "POSSESSED" by the spirit of the original substance meant to treat a particular Disease or Sickness.  I am not making this up.

I could go on, but explaining every irrational idea put forth by Homeopathy is beyond the scope of this article.

What is really incredible about the practice of Homeopathy, is the lack of any reasonable explanation on why or how it could possibly be of benefit to anyone. (Apart from the Placebo Affect.)

To illustrate, let us examine a core belief that is part of the Homeopathic System.

Law of Similars- That once a person exhibits the symptoms of a certain illness or disease, they should be administered a small dose of the toxin that caused the sickness. Such treatments are claimed to result in a "Cure", that will return the patient to good health.

This is often compared to the inoculations that are administered today.  However, there is no comparison. Properly prepared vaccines deliver a very small dose of the toxins that cause the malady.  This is done to stimulate the human bodies immune system to build up resistance that will eliminate susceptibility to the given disease. This procedure is done to prevent someone from contracting the illness.

This is the exact opposite when receiving Homeopathic Treatment.  Modern acceptable medical procedures are geared to preventing one from falling victim to disease.  Homeopathy treats the illness AFTER IT HAS BEEN CONTRACTED BY THE INDIVIDUAL. 

Not only have Homeopathic Practitioners failed to produce testable results that show that such a practice is beneficial, they also cannot provide a reasonable explanation on how the treatment could possibly be effective.

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME, IT'S TWO DIFFERENT ISSUES.)

Lets continue with the analysis of the Presidents speech.

"...and undocumented immigrants who desperately want to embrace those responsibilities see little option but to remain in the shadows, or risk their families being torn apart."

This is a Moral Judgment on the choices given to Undocumented Immigrants. That if they reveal Themselves, it would result in their being forced out of the Country. This could mean Physical Separation from their Minor Children.  The President is implying that if there was an alternative solution, that keeps families together, it would be welcomed by those who want to stay in the U.S., and live up to all the responsibilities of residing in this Country.

Moving on:  "It's been this way for decades.  And for decades we haven't done much about it.  When I took office, I committed to fixing this broken immigration system, And I began by doing what I could to secure our borders."

The President has acknowledged the problem, but reminds us that he didn't create it.  He is also accusing former administrations of doing little to address the Issue.  However, he committed to 

solving the problem while in office, and reaffirms it.  

"Today we have more agents and technology deployed to secure our southern border than at any time in our history. And over the past six years illegal border crossings have been cut by more than half."

Here are more sales strategies that should be considered Before You;

- Purchase SPECIAL SUPPLEMENTS.

-  Start a NEW DIET.

-  Join a GYM OR WORKOUT CENTER, OR EXERCISE AT HOME.

1)  The price of many Supplements can vary greatly, depending on the Company, Brand or Retailer.  Yet,  the same active ingredients can found at both ends of the cost spectrum. Many times your paying for the name on the label or the Fame of certain Spokespersons.

2)  There is no magic pill to help you lose weight and gain muscle.  Weight loss, on the most basic level, is burning more calories than you take in.  Muscle growth requires proper stimulation of the fibers, and adequate protein intake that enters the bloodstream for nourishment and growth.  Yes, HGH, STEROIDS and the like will make it easier, but the side effects can be very hazardous to your long term health. In addition, there are some unpleasant cosmetic changes to your body that often accompany the increase in muscle.  This holds true for both men and women. There are other supplements that saturate the current market, and I'll address them in a later post.

3)  Getting back to Dieting, watch for any supplement that is just a DIURETIC in disguise. Once the water weight is gone, that fat still remains.

4)  I have mentioned these products in other posts, but any product labeled HOMEOPATHIC, or is recommended by NATUROPATHY, is essentially worthless. 

Joining a Gym/Workout center, or creating your own personal exercise space at home is: 

-  A personal decision in finding the right environment.  Both creating an area in your home for private workouts, or joining an outside venue have their advantages and disadvantages.

-  A financial investment in your future.  I have seen individuals spend tremendous amounts of money to create a home gym that Mr. Olympia would be proud of.  At the other extreme, I have known people who think that having an expensive membership at the Big Name Gym or Workout Center will virtually guarantee miraculous results.

The decision should lie with what you expect out of starting a regular exercise regimen.
